A bit about me…

I’m an illustrator based in London. I like to work both in the studio, as well as on location capturing places in the moment.

I use lots of different analogue materials like watercolour, oil pastels, and collage which all have a tactile quality. As an illustrator, I have always drawn using a dip-pen and a pot of ink which gives a bold and expressive line.

When I’m out drawing on location, I don’t usually draw pencil outlines first. I prefer to let the image take shape organically and think about each mark as I go, embracing whatever comes into my field of view.

Working on client-led briefs in the studio is a bit different. I nearly always start with a pencil sketch to visualise the idea first. When it comes to the artwork stage, I often work in separate layers, scanning my hand draw material in and adjusting as needed. This allows for some flexibility depending on the nature of the project.
